Interim Management

I step into the company and run it for a period, not just advise

Operations Manager, Plant Manager, General Manager or Managing Director — on an interim basis, for a set period. I take over an operation going through a hard patch or one left without leadership, stabilize it, and hand the team back a business that works.

What interim management means and when you choose it

Interim management means a senior manager steps in and runs the company for a set period — usually 3 to 12 months — with real accountability for results, not just recommendations in a report. You choose it in two situations: you have a project that needs an experienced person at the helm (a new line, a relocation, a turnaround) and no one internal is free; or someone in leadership left suddenly and you need someone to hold the reins until you find the right person, without the business losing momentum.

The difference from a classic consultant: a consultant leaves you a plan — I execute it, with a mandate, a team and the P&L in front of me. I ran factories and operations for 20 years before doing this as an interim, so I deliver results from the first weeks, not after a quarter of settling in.

Roles I cover

Operations ManagerCoordinating day-to-day operations, bringing structure to workflows, with clear KPIs and execution discipline.
Plant / Production ManagerRunning a factory or production: capacity, quality, delivery, maintenance.
General Manager / Managing DirectorFull accountability for P&L and the management team, in one or several countries.
Supply Chain ManagerPlanning, procurement, logistics and inventory — from order to delivery.

Situations I step into most often

  • Turnaround — I take over a loss-making operation and bring it to profit.
  • Ramp-up and line launch — I run a new line through to stable serial production, without letting quality or delivery slip.
  • Line or plant relocation — I run a production transfer with minimal downtime.
  • KPI implementation — I implement a management system that shows in the numbers, not just on paper.
  • Covering a vacant leadership seat — I keep the operation on track until you find the permanent person.

Industries I've worked in

Electrical installations, automotive, furniture manufacturing, the maritime industry, industrial sewing equipment, and non-food FMCG. Operational processes are essentially the same from one industry to another, so the same experience carries over into a new one — the diagnosis, the flow and the execution discipline don't change.

How a mandate unfolds

  1. A short conversation to understand what you need: the role, the duration, the objective.
  2. A quick on-site audit — 2-3 days — to see the real flow and where the problems are.
  3. I step into the role with a clear mandate and measurable objectives, and run the operation.
  4. I hand the team a stable operation, with metrics and routines that stay after I leave.
